LIFE CAPSULES

These pieces were inspired by microphotographs of plant pollen. I’m fascinated by how these tiny “packages of DNA” possess such intricate shapes and surfaces. Clay has been used to make vessels for holding food and liquids for more than 20,000 years. I like this connection – using clay for sculptures of life containers.
